Question about 35 watt Athlon/Sempron 64?

I'm going to be using a computer in my car so it's absolutely critical that I keep power consumption to a minimal. I've been trying to come across the 35w Athlon/Sempron with no luck.

Now my question is, can I just buy a regular Athlon 64, underclock it and get the same lower watt usage? Or would it be better to just buy the 35w right out the box.

Yeah, you may as well buy a regular Athlon 64. However, you don't really need to underclock it. The important thing is to undervolt it. For example, my 3500+ runs at 2.2GHz on 1.35V. This CPU is however capable of running at that frequency on just 1.2V. Actual CPU power consumption at this voltage is approximately 30W and it's very easy to cool.
