Just got my new OCZ GameXStream 700w PSU. It's a real nice unit, with plenty of connectors, banded cables, and a real quiet fan.
My question is the connector going to the main mobo power in, there is one marked "Main", and another smaller 4 pin connector marked "24", which is banded with "Main".
My motherboard is a Gigabyte P35 DS3L, and it's got a 24 pin main connection. However, when i plugged in both the main and the extra "24", the psu wouldn't power on at all. If I remove the extra "24" (4 pins), the PC powers on, boots up, and works fine.
What is the extra 4 pin connector for?
The main connector is keyed so you can't put it on wrong, but is it possible that I put the extra 4 on backwards? is it even needed? and if not, why is it there?
