Question about 2005 Chevy Equinox

Was driving my mother in laws car, once in a while it would get a nasty vibration under the center console, It didn't seem affected by speed, nor did it show up through the gear shift. Just trying to get some ideas

Is this 2005 Chevy Equinox an all wheel drive car...?

If so with a vibration under the console I would possibly think U-joint...? If not then a possible engine mount...?

Yes it's an all wheel drive. It's intermittent and feels and sounds like a jack hammer.

Check the center support on the driveshaft.

Had a 2005 chevy equinox. The intermediate steering shaft is an item that is common to come loose and rattle about. It's cheap, and fairly easy to replace. Keeping the steering wheel straight is probably the biggest difficult.
