question.. ^__^

well, you would have to provide a lot more details to be able to give a meaningful answer , see my sig line, down below this, thanks

in windows xp or 2k go to the run box, and type "cmd"
that brings up the command prompt
there type "ipconfig" and hit enter
take note of your ip
then type "ipconfig /release" and hit enter
that will release your ip
then type "ipconfig /renew" and hit enter
that will get you an ip, which you should check to see if its different.

lol... do i have to unplug my network or its okay just to do it..?

do i have to unplug my network or its okay just to do it..

Thats right, unplug your network, pack up your computer into the box it came in, and ship it back to the company you bought it from. When they ask you why you did this, tell them you were too stupid to use it.

haha

depends on your type of connection .

I thought ALL dsl used Static ip? where as Cable is dynamic but ip doesnt change much.

I hear you can get faster IP addresses from the guy in the white van. They always have the fastest ones. All you have to do is put it in your floppy drive and reboot. VIOLA! New IP address and faster internet access. I do it at least once a year.

I've never had that work..... I bet he'd be at it for a LONG time...

I would say best would be to stay offline for say maybe an hour at a time, hope someone grabs your old IP... and you'll get a new one. 😛
