HEy all, got a few quick questions.

1) On my face I still got a few scars from when I used to play rugby, they are only skin deep, so nothing that needs cosmetic surgery I hope. Do ya think scar patches would work? anyone ever used em before and have anything to say from experience?

2) Currently, my skin looks so dull all the time, and I was wondering if there was anyway to make it a tad bit more bright, and radiant. I've tried using moisturizer for almost 3 months striaght, every morning and every night. No difference, whenever I'm in a bathroom with bright lights it looks quite a bit bettter, it makmes my skin a bit lighter and brighter, more radiant looking bbecuase of the light. Anyway to achieve this without just good lighting :D

Thanks in advance

scar patches? wtf is that.
there is nothing short of cortisone injections into a non-mature keloid scar that will change the way the skin heals.
any claims to the contrary are simply not true.

I skinned the right side of my face many years ago in a nasty bike accident, and I did find that keeping it covered and moist helped. This kept it out of the sun as well, which is a major factor in scarring (at least for my skin). My physician said I would be permanently disfigured, but it healed completely within 5 weeks :) For a "set" scar it would be too late. But keeping a recent one covered is very important.

What do you mean you skin looks dull? Is it the color or texture, or both? Is it oily, dry, partially oily/dry? Do you have eye bags? Stubble?

my skin looks dull in texture. It's a dark tanned tone, although it has no radiance, while alot of epopel who I know that have very similar skin color to me have very radiant, dark looking, healthy skin. It's not moisturizer which is the issue though, asm y face is quite oily even

Look at your relatives -- do they have the same skin type? Has yours always looked dull? One major factor is diet (and of course overall health and circulation), but some people just have more luminous skin than others. You might try a gentle exfoliating treatment to see if sloughing off the surface cells heps at all. Be gentle, buy something with salt or small granules in it that you can rub on your skin. Clinique (at dept. stores) also has some excellent skincare products for men. They are NOT "faggy" (or whatever other guys here are likley to say

) -- and they also have consultants there that will help you to evaluate which products would work best. If you can, bring a female friend to comment on the various alternatives.

It hasn't always been dull, it used to be incredibly radiant. Used to look fine.

I used to use teh cliniques soap, they dried out my skin too much. I wasp lanning on haeding over to the Bay tommorow and checking out their clinique line.

Thanks a ton for your help.

How often should I use the exfoliator?

It's hard to judge without seeing the skin, so I would ask the counter help (as long as they are not too pushy). A mild exfoliation could be done daily, with a stronger scrub weekly. I have a mango body rub with some salt that I use about once a week -- I got it from the Body Shop. If the dullness is recent, look for changes in your diet - - they can be significant. It could represent stress as well. Or depending on your age/condition, perhaps something hormonal.
