Ques. for anyone who's had their tongue pierced!

Hey guys,
This question is to anyone who's gotten their tongue pierced..
I'm kinda worried, but from talking to people, it seems like I shouldn't be..... I want you guys' opinion on it...
Has anyone else (who had their's pierced) had this? It's like.....Uh....half the top ball is kinda making a "mini-crater" in my tongue......People have told me this is normal and that it will heal right, but I just need info from people who've had their's pierced.....Here pics if you dont understand what I'm saying:

I'm pretty sure it's normal. Just the torn edges of the flesh healing. If it doen't get better in a week or two, I'd see a doc, tho.

I understand what you are saying and it is nothing to worry about but the best thing to do is ask the people at the piercing studio any questions you have.

I f you recently got this pierced it is due to the swelling, it will go down.

I urge you to take any questions back to the place where you recived your piercing, they are always willing to help you and more knowledgeable than most of us here!

i know that girls that have it really know how to handle the love stick. Ive heard that guys that have it also know how to handle the love stick fairly well.

I've had mine done twice (two separate occasions) and I'd have to say it looks pretty normal to me.

Nasty, my ear looked like that when I had a bad reaction to a sterling silver stud I put in.

Took it months to heal after I finally gave up & took it out.

I dunno....I'm just freaking out.......its like half the ball is buried in my tongue.....And it looks rather strange to me.. *shrugs* I guess if that's how it should be.......Then so be it....

Nah, dude it is normal. But the best way to set your mind to ease is to go to the shop where you had it done and ask them.....

Thanks to you (helpful) guys....To the ones who are making fun of (guys w/) tongue piercings, its all good....The GIRLS know what it's used for on them, and they love the sh*t out of it :)

im sure since it feels good when chicks work the stick, it feels good when guys munch down too!!

Just make sure you don't end up workin the stick and you're cool.


btw, i dont have a tongue piercing, old gf used to MUNCH with her tongue rings and the other girls found it quite alright!!

How long is that barbell and how long ago did you get it done?

It can also depend on what you use to clean it.

And stop playing with it. That's probably the #1 thing that causes problems while healing that piercing. People play with it too much. Also be careful when eating that you don't tear it.

toolgirl, i got it last friday (so it'll be a week this coming friday)....

I'm not sure on the length, maybe about 1"? Somewhere around there, and its 14ga....

I'm doing what my piercer told me to, rinse half-water-half-listerine after eating/drinking ('cept water) and smoking, and gargling/holding w/ warm salt-water twice a day for about 15 mins each day....

I am guilty of playing with it, and im careful when i eat........So I'm gonna stop playing with it (try at least =\ )

Looks ok to me, got mine done like 5 years ago though and its made a small and seemingly permanent dent in my tongue. Mine's 12g though which means less options when looking at decorative style studs, oh well stainless steel works for me. Just keep rinsing it out to make sure it heals!
