Query regarding Upgrade to Windows 10

Hi Folks,

I have a question about upgrading from Windows 7 Home to Windows 10 Home version.

I own a Samsung Laptop having a factory image in the C drive partition. In case my Windows 7 gets effected (e.g. Virus, Traojn and Adware) and I am unable to remove them I can always go back to the factory state by re-booting and take the computer back to the way it was in the beginning.

My question are as follows:

Once I upgrade to Windows 10 automatically will the factory image for Windows 7 be still there ? If so, how do I get the PC to be in factory reset condition (either Windows 7 or 10) ?

Thanks for your help in advance. Will download Windows 10 after I get a solution.

The upgrade to windows 10 will not affect the image. If you should reinstall 10 from a dvd or thumb drive later and elect to delete all existing partitions then it would remove the one holding the repair image.

I have read people in this very forum say that their recovery partition was impacted. Not saying it will in your case, but I wouldn't take the chance, and make recovery media just in case.

On my dell laptop I copied the recovery image to a dvd just in case I ever wanted to restore the factory image. The op should do something similar in the first place.
