I am contemplating setting up an 8-core AMD FX-8150 system and really get stumped looking for a motherboard online and being sure it has 8-core support. Any tips on what to look for and my options.

I found a GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AM3+ AMD 970 but believe it doesn't support an 8-core. Its confusing and I wish to avoid an expensive mistake selecting parts.

Thanks, I'll check out my options, I prefer ASUS mostly but have looked at a couple of Gigabyte boards also. Thanks again.

Thanks, that Biostar looks better and is priced lower than most I have seen, and may end up my primary choice. Thanks for the tip!

Just wondering, if you don't mind. What frequency can I expect on that 3.6GHz FX-8150 black edition for overclocking at a stable setting with good cooling but not any water systems?

Don't buy a crappy AMD "8-core". For the price you can get a superior Core i5-3570K or 2500K instead. There's very good, inexpensive motherboards for them as well like the ASRock Z77 Extreme4 and ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3.
