Query about broadband and 2 pcs

Hey
I have two pcs one with mobo A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo and the other has a similar asus mobo they both have the same wire LAN slot anyway.

The router I got from my ISP (BT Ireland) is a ZyXEL prestige 600 series it has a usb, a LAN and dsl slot what i am wondering, is it possible to connect one computer to the usb slot and the other computer to the LAN slot on the router so they can both use the dsl, and if they can, can they use the internet simultaneously (it's a 2mb DSL connection).

Finally i was wondering would this be a LAN between the two computers that I could share files through and play games on with the person on the other computer.

Thanks for your time and interest.

not sure if this would work, but you should definitely be able to pick up a cheap 4 port switch (or hub i guess for 2 pcs) and connect them both via ethernet. as far as sharing files using the usb & lan port, probably not? but if you go the hub route you would be able to. basically you connect both pcs to the hub, then the hub to the dsl modem.

something like this:

or one of the cheaper even (i don't know much about the other brands so i don't want to suggest them, but basically any 4-5 port switch will be fine) and a couple of network cables and you're good to go.

I have a 4 port router. It is connected to my broadband modem. I have three computers. Each is connected to the router. They can all access the Internet simultaneously. Yes - all three computers are a LAN. What's really the quesiton? That is normal.

What you have is just a modem, it does not have the router functionality. You need to go out and purchase like a router/4 port switch. Like the Linksys BEFSR41 will do it. Many of them, like Linksys, have a setup cd that will take care of the router configuration.
