Query: 35mm slides and scanning

If the HP 1350 has a removable top pad so it can illuminate through a transparency, it should work. Do you have a manual for it?

To scan slides, the top cover also has to be illuminated. IOW, light must be able to shine through the slide from above so it is captured by the scanning strip below. Slide capable scanners have a removable top pad for that purpose.

Looking at the 1350 specs, I don't see that capability.

Yeah, I was wondering if there was a ghetto hax that might work.
I've found more than the couple of boxes I saw initially, so I may just buy a stand alone unit.
 
Spend money is the only accurate way to go.

Must have the transparency adaptor. If your scanner doesn't have it you = boned. Must be a precise light source and the scanner typically filters for it.

Epson V500 will do it - like $150 by now.
