Going to get one of these. Just got a queen bed, getting married in a couple weeks...should I go with a king-sized quilt? Or will queen suffice?

is a queen-sized quilt enough or should I pay extra to get a bigger one?

I would assume a queen size quilt is big enough for a queen size bed

To sleep under? no. To sleep on top of? Yes.

We have queen one for our queen bed that we sleep on and we had to get a couple sets king sheets to fit over it all.

It won't cover it all, there will be exposed sheets and stuff.

I'd go for the bigger one.

yeah it will be for my wife and I, and we're both blanket hogs.

Edit: Dang, wife...it's hard to comprehend I'm getting married in two and a half weeks :D

The rule of thumb for me is to have the comforter be one size bigger than the bed.

$99 for a quilt?

that's about right. if you price the king sized, it's $179.99.

yup, pricey, but oh my gosh, if you ever go to Ikea, go touch one...mmm. Serta pillowtop + Ikea quilt = heaven :)

also, I hate sleeping between the sheets, I sleep between the quilt and top sheet.

get the bigger one that way you/your wife is less likely to take it all in teh night and leave you freezing with no blanket

thats not actually a bad idea, my CF and I had to sleep with seperate blankets in college because neither of us woudl sleep well if we just used one, also on a queen sized bed, moving to 2 seperate comforters did wonders

may I suggest checking out the down comforter selection at overstock.com? Twice the down (and nicer looking if I say so myself) at your price

or the same amount of down for half cheaper

Actually I bought a silk comforter from deal.com when they were having inventory reduction so I can't say anything about the down at overstock .. but if I hadn't done that I would have definitely gotten one of those down ones.

Edit: Okay overstock can suck on my nuts for not having direct linking. Buy the Ikea :|
