Queen of the Damned

On DVD . . . vampire film based on the Anne Rice book series.

I liked it . . . didn't care much for the "queen's" (Aaliyah) acting but kept thinking she was hot (it was actually distracting). The film delves into the vampire's religon and belief system.

Not a great film but way better than Craven's Drac2000.

i know many people say it, but it didn't do the books justice.

however, it was better than Interview w/ a vampire starring tom cruice and brad pitt.

overall tho, not a great vampire flick.

they kinda rolled vampire lestat in w/ queen of the damned. vampire lestat by itself wouldn't make a great movie even tho it was a good book.

lestat is really too introspective to be a good movie.

i can't believe how many people 'thread crap'...

i've read the first 4 of her books....and have the limited edition coffin box of the first 3 on audio.

i haven't read any of her recent books (no time ) but i cant wait to....

I have become quite "daring" since I got my 1 free movie a week for 10 weeks (with retail LOTR DVD purchase @ Blockbuster).

Just watch out for their stupid late fees (back-by-noon crap in 2 short days) - I haven't been stung yet but it's been close.

"Queen" is very much related to "Interview". However, Aaliyah was not an actress and even her exotic role can't disguise her self-consciousness . . . sometimes she even looks bored in her role . . . however with a body that'll forgive anything.

I'd watch the next sequel (rental, anyway).
