Anyone see the movie yet? I was thinking of going to check it out today, but I've seen two pretty bad reviews so far at IGN and IMDB.

Thought I 'd see what you losers think ;)

Some dude on one of the local morning drive radio shows I listen to called that movie a "massive piece of sh!t." Take what you want out of that. I've yet to read a positive review. And from normal people, not professional critics.

I'm going to see the movie in about an hour, I hope I can at least sit through it. I didn't mind "Interview with a Vampire" (despite my Tom Cruise boycott) but, I have heard that there are several differences b/t "Queen of the Damned" and the novel itself. I'll let you know if it is worth it or not.

Unfortunately, the only reason that movie is going to make any money is because of Aaliyah's death.

i don't think its gona be anything like the books......i mean come on aliyah is ummmm for lack of a better word...BLACK!......
the queen of the damned is supposed to be such an old vampire that she is as white as anything.....

anyways.... it has been my experience the longer you wait and anticipate a movie the more it sucks and i was hearing about this movie like 3 years ago when i read the books.......(kinda like star wars eppy 1 so hypped and expected it sucked)

i really hope that doesn't happen to matrix 2

I don't understand why Hollywood keeps throwing singers and rappers into movies thinking that they will actually be able to carry a role. How High? Glitter? Crossroads? All complete and utter bombs. I'm not the world's biggest Anne Rice fan, but I this movie is just an insult to her books. :|

I can't believe the plot -- an old lonely Vampire becomes a rock star and wakes up the mother of all Vampires with his music? HUH!?!?

Not that I would watch it or anything, but Crossroads was #2 in the Box Office this past week, making 14.6 Million. I wouldn't necessarily call it a bomb, unless you are saying it is a zero-star movie, which I agree with. :)

<< So, ummm, isn't it the same plot as the book? >>

Very loosely......If you want some spoilers let me know. There are things in the movie that are very different from the book...

Who made Lestat?....grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Who dies?...grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Sun what? grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

my EXACT thought....wtf is up with that????

I saw it last night. I actually liked it, not as a Lestat movie, but for it's visuals. If you like NIN videos, this is one big long one. I think they changed a lot from the book, but I read it ten years ago, so my memory is spotty.

Better than IWTV at least. Townsend is NOT Lestat, but better than Cruise.

Well, apparently, in the book, the character Aaliyah plays is Egyptian, and as the director stated, who's ever seen a white Egyptian (besides Liz Taylor's turn at it). So, the director felt that a woman of color fit better in the role. Personally, I think it was a good idea, and if you're gonna fault something, fault Anne Rice, who is supposedly know for her extensive research.

Besides, I think all that Vampire stuff is weird anyway, so who really cares what the color of one of them is?
