Hey guys. I just got a Quantum Fireball LM Plus 30 gig from Buy.com. I installed and noticed that its significantly louder than my maxtor and western digital drives. You can hear the clicks were loud and clearly. Is that normal cuz I remember reading somewhere that Quantum drives are quiet drives.
 
Quantum drives have louder seeks than other drives. It should be normal. I have a Quantum KA drive in one of my comps and it also makes quite a lot of noise. The loud seeks are a result of the low overall seek times of Quantum drives.

When I got the Maxtor drive I frequently looked at the HD-LED to see if it was still working 😉

Nah, I like if it is loud! Sounds very fast and impressive! 😛
