Anyone getting this? I just realized it comes out this Tuesday. Pre-ordering digitally on Xbox.com, on the xb1 console, or from participating retailers (list available on Xbox.com) will allow you to get the game on Windows 10 for free. I went ahead and did it as I haven't had many games to play lately and it looks pretty good(hope I am not wrong there lol). I believe you also get a copy of Alan wake for the 360 which is playable on the xb1 as well if I read that correctly.

Any thoughts on this game?

Windows Central streamed the end of the first act and the start of the second over the past 2 weeks. It looks really good, and they just put up a review: http://www.windowscentral.com/review-quantum-break (I can't read it until after work).

I haven't pre-ordered, as I'm still debating if I want to get it digitally for the free W10 copy, get it physically for $48 with GCU at Best Buy, or get it for $60 at GameStop with the cool steelbook. I'm definitely getting it, though.

I thought it looked great too. I figure the free win10 copy would be more use to me than a steel book. Amazon would give me 20% off the physical copy but I want to play it on my PC I think. The Xbox one copy is cool so when I bring my console to a friends house I can let them try it. I was just surprised to not really see much talk about it and it is coming in a few days.

I'm interested for pc, but not until MS sorts out their issues on Win10 store exclusives. No interest in Xbox1, 720p@30fps is a major pass.

Sorts out what? You simply get it from the windows store and install it. You can tell it where to install new apps too but it is kind of a poor implementation of that functionality. Overall it works though. I installed killer instinct with no problem.

It looks awesome, and I'm a fan of Remedy's work and really enjoyed Alan Wake (it's my favorite story based single player game from last gen). So, I'm looking forward to it.

I use SLI and G-sync. Supposed to be addressing those issues in the summer apparently. Also just read the PC version needs always online if you want cut scenes, as it streams them. That's going to blow if you don't have a good internet connection.

Since you have to download it to get it on PC I would hope your internet connection can handle the cut scenes lol. I think that's a great feature though, to cut down the amount of storage space needed. For this game at least, I am not really buying it on windows. I'll play it on PC but if there are significant performance problems or whatnot I can always play it on Xbox one instead. No sli support kind of sucks but I hope there are no really bad performance issues with a single 970 at 1080p.

Thanks for the heads up though.

I'm on the fence. Will probably wait until it goes on sale. The XB1 sounded like it suffers from framerate issues at times as well as some other annoying glitches.

The pre-order Windows 10 deal is only through the XB Store. The other retailers have the Alan Wake special.

Not according to the fine print on xbox.com

Actually I read SLI does work on MS store, provided the devs implement it. Apparently this stemmed from Rise of the Tomb Raider with SLI working on Steam and not MS Store version. It has since been fixed for TR. Other issues still remain though, and won't be fixed until MS does it.

Far as the internet, it may not be a problem to download the game with a slow connection. Like I got 8-12mbps at my prior residence, would just dl games overnight. Just takes time. Trying to stream an HD video was a PITA though. Don't want to be playing a game and see "buffering" lol. And what will it be like on release day or soon after? Will they be able to stream to all players? What happens when the video servers are taken offline in a couple years? Apparently Xbox with a 500gb hdd is given the option to dl the vids, but pc is not. Makes sense.

Just dumb to not give the option to dl if desired.

So does the W10 PC version not have the episode install option then? On XB1, you can download the videos to the HDD, but they take up 75 GB (not including the game).

Been on my list. Missed playing max Payne and this looked very good. I'm definitely getting it

I thought it would be out next Tuesday not this one. I'm considering getting it on disc from best buy so I can use my gamers club discounts. It looks like a lot of fun from what I've seen in videos.

Preorder the Xbox One version, get the windows 10 version, then send the Xbox One version in to Amazon trade-in and get $40 back :)

I'm not getting this game. Maybe when it is in the bargain bin.

The pre-order deal for free Windows 10 version only counts on digital purchase.

The reviews came back pretty favorable. Decided to buy at after finding I had a large balance on the Xbox Store.

I have heard the TV show in the middle of it is terrible.
I think the episodes are 75gb alone. The game should be a bit over 44gb. But they said you can stream them in game. I may do that since my xbox doesn't have much space left.

The show is the story for the game and I read 3 reviews that said it wasn't bad and had pretty good actors. It's about 30 min per episode and the reviews I read said that they never really felt bored of watching it like they originally thought.

I really wanna play this, but I just got Tomb Raider recently and pretty busy with the division. Looking forward to picking it up when i have time to mix in another game though.

Yeah, I don't know many of the actors, but Broyles from Fringe is in it, and I liked him. The main protagonist is Iceman from X-Men, though I cared nothing for him or those movies. His twin brother was in Warehouse 13 and was OK, I guess (given his shoehorned nature). From the chunks of the first episode I saw, it's not all that bad to watch. It comes off as a bit of a generic action show with a mix of sci-fi, but some of the effects are pretty crappy in the show, despite looking good in the game.

Reviews on metacritic seem alright. I may pick this up during lunch. I hope it's at least a decent shooter on rails.

Last decent shooter I played was the order and I enjoyed that one even though it was short.

I really like this game so far. Some of the reviews that say the game is terrible...I just don't understand how they are coming to that conclusion.

I read some of them, like giant bomb. I don't know. The order also didn't score very well and I liked it a lot. The user reviews seem to be pretty decent. It used to be you could count on most reviews but now it seems you don't really know until you try it yourself.

I gave up on trusting review years ago. At best, I'll read 3-5 reviews for glaring problems that everyone notes, but if it comes down to calling a game "boring" or complaining about visual quality, I won't care about the review. User reviews are actually the worst, particularly on Metacritic. That place is FULL of platform trolls, going both ways.

I saw one clown who rated this game a 4/10 and called it "banal." I went to his other reviews, and they were rating KI Season 2 a 0/10, rating Halo 5 a 4/10 (and calling it "banal" as well), then giving SFV and a couple of other Sony exclusives 10/10. In fact, going through there again, I see his review was taken down, so he made another that is just 4 lines, repeating: "only 7 hours. The story is banal and gameplay idem"

Some other reviews from obvious trolls...

0/10: "720p/30fps in 2016 . . . I'm sellinf XONE right now and going to by PS4"
0/10: "5 hours . . . 720p"
3/10: "bad execution like Defiance, but not as interesting as Defiance"

The complaints about length are likely absurd. I've heard anywhere from 5-10 hours, and I'll be the people throwing out the 7-hour tears are either playing on Easy or parroting people who did. IF you're tearing through a game without any challenge, complaining it is short is moronic.

One thing I'll say is kind of a point I expected to see complained about: After people railed on The Order for being short and more of a movie than a game, we've arrived at a game with 22-minute TV shows between each chunk of gameplay. I guess this still might be twice as long as The Order, but I kind of expected more jokes/complaints about how this isn't enough of a game.
