Update on this thread:

So, I was toying with the idea of picking up a refurbed EIZO 24" or 27", and I gave their sales staff a call. Pretty much from the start I was sold. After dealing with Dell's service/support/RMA run around, it was really refreshing to talk to someone who knew a thing or two about monitors, and you could tell he actually liked the company he works for. Long story short, I ended up ordering a refurbed FlexScan SX2461W for $350 + $25 shipping. It arrived today, and it is fantastic. Definitely the best PVA panel I have ever seen. In all honesty, I think I'd try out a $1100 NEC LCD2490WUXi (S-IPS) before buying one of these new for $1300-1400, but if they get them back in stock refurb it's the best $375 you'll ever spend on a 24" LCD.

...yes, it does 1:1 scaling for 1920x1080. :)

edit: Just tried out EIZO's ScreenManager Pro software, which lets you adjust the monitor via a software interface instead of using the controls on the monitor itself. Why doesn't every manufacturer have something like this?
