Quality of XP-M processors

I'm looking at getting a new laptop and just looking around some I notice that there are no Pentium M cpus that have video cards with no shared memory (from what I've seen). But I have however seen some that have XP-M cpus and have non-shared memory vid cards.

My question is how good are these XP-M cpus? Do they run well for games and such?

The XP-M chips are essentially the same as their desktop brethren, except their multipliers are unlocked. They overclock extremely well, but you're not going to be able to OC much on a laptop.

They are fine for games and such.

Are they good on battery life, more so than Pentium M cpus? I know it probably varies from laptop to laptop, but how long do XP-M based laptops last battery-wise?

I have the older XP2000+ T-bred A in my 900z and it gives 3hrs, less when playing a DVD now, that is nowhere close to the P-M. The P-M is the best performance-to-battery life mobile out there afaik.

XP-M chips are not all regular athlons. My XP-M 2800 is a socket 754 Athlon 64 based chip. Cpuz reports 1.6 Ghz opeteron core. Battery life with 15.4 Widescreen is between 2-3 hours.

uh.... are you sure it isn't a A64-M? The XP-M run socket A, XP based, and are Barton Core... I know this because I have one in my desktop... and no it isn't regular, it runs at a lower voltage and is unlocked...

Yes I am sure it is a XP-M, I can read specifications. Do you need a screenshot?

This is the Compaq 3000Z, it is available with w different XP-M processors and 4 different A64s
