Quality higher than 320 kbps?

In audio, what format are the files of higher quality than an mp3 at 320kbps? Source of music is not an option 😛

Also, where can I obtain this?

AAC if you are an itunes user. Also I know that Roxio lets you rip a WAV of the file which is at 1411 Kbps. there is also FLAC.... any number of options that arent mp3

Kaevener or whatever his current name is might have some interesting but thoroughly impractical ideas. There is nothing higher than lossless.

WAV is lossless. (And huge)
But not many audio editors let you make wav's anymore.

I think CDex will rip wav's from a CD.

What do you need it for?

You mean Kvaerner Masa? Alright, sending PM

FLAC is the absolute best source you can get. It is lossless compression. It preserves ALL the original data. It ends up being about 800 kbs. Since it IS the source, and contains all the original data of the source, it is not possible to have anything better.

Just to listen to at highest quality possible, good receiver and speakers can be arranged at some local places 😛

Lossless is just compression that leaves the original file intact. Nothign is removed and yet you still get a file that is 50% the original size

iTunes will rip WAV from a CD, I thought most anything would.

I too find it strange that someone would think that the ability to rip wavs is no longer prevalent....

That said, wavs are quite archaic in practical music-licrary use as they cannot handle tags...

yet another benefit of lossless😀
