Qualified RAM for a MB

I've been looking at getting a AM3+ motherboard (I have a AM3 CPU in a AM2+ board) but I can't find any "certified" RAM that's listed on the board manufacturers site (Asrock). I want 2x4gb but the list of certified 4gb chips is very short and none of it seems to be for sale. Is their some trick to finding certified RAM?

Even their new AM3+ boards have old RAM listed. I suspect they use the RAM they already have as the listed RAM is exactly the same for all their AM3+ boards.

I couldn't decide if this should be here or in the memory forum. Mods, if you think it should be in the other forum feel free to move it.

QVLs are almost as worthless as shipped driver disks. They change the product codes whenever a new memory revision gets used in production.

If shopping for memory I usually go with the reliable brands (Corsair, Crucial, G.Skill, Patriot, Kingston covers a wide array), and a bonus is finding a set that has a review by someone using the same motherboard.
