Quakewars ET / BF2142

Thinking of reinstalling each of these games, just wondering if there is a good community of players for these games, or if most people have left?

I enjoy QW...a bit too much..taking a break for the time being.....my biggest issue is that it's the same maps over and over.....I wish that some servers would run different maps from time to time.

I remember when 2142 came out me and my clan were against it and other friends. Me and my one friend though said fuck it who cares if the developer is a pos they make a damn good game and it is. QW i think is a better game and actually im going to reinstall it i found the disc while cleaning up and it will fill the void until WAR comes out.

I was thinking about picking up Quake Wars this past weekend but the only thing that stopped me was I was wondering how many people were still playing it.

According the Gamespy stat page, as of 9-2-08..

BF2142: 1356 servers, 4846 players
Quake Wars: 489 servers, 2214 players

I prefer the gaming zeitgeist page, due to the trend mapping.

I'm playing BF2142, it's less popular than BF2 currently, but I find it more refined and a bit more balanced. BF2 is a good game though.

I just played my first online game of ET:QW this weekend. I actually had a lot of fun with it. I just hopped in the first server I saw with players and a low ping. If there aren't many servers, I guess I can't really complain as I only paid 10 bucks for it on clearance at Target.
