Some of the rather interesting tibits

"The next DOOM game will look like it's built on another engine, as it uses three times the horsepower." It'll operate at 30 frames per second.

Pure graphics-wise, it's equivalent to a Dreamcast, but almost closer to a last gen console. RAM is the only impediment. iPhone is more powerful than the DS and PSP put together

:Q

On the next DOOM: "We're hiring new talent, but are not so interested in 'systems people' who want to create new code." The technology is in place, now id wants to focus on design and novel features.

The next DOOM's multiplayer content is more extensive than DOOM III's.

By the the time that DOOM 4 ships to consoles, PC will be light years ahead of current consoles. In this case, the PC version will support significant visual improvements over 360 or PS3 versions

Yes im eagerly waiting for id's next installment of DooM4. Apparently the 4th installment wil not be called "DooM4" and will be more along the lines of DooM2. (There will be moments where people will be shitting themselves but most of the time it will be blasting hordes of hellish minions back from where they tele/crawled out of, where the emphasis lie on "winning" as a hero).

The video of the keynotes will probably be uploaded soon.

So there will be a Doom for Iphone that will look like a Dreamcast and then Doom4 for PC? Your second quote is confusing, makes it sound like Doom4 will look like Dreamcast graphically :p. I don't know about this, on one hand its a classic, it's Doom....but on the other hand I really don't want to just have another mindless slug fest game where you just go round shooting things....I hope they can get more creative since when Doom3 came out- Farcry was a much better game overall IMO.

I thought Doom 3 was brilliant, sure it wasn't very deep but the atmosphere was great and killing off those zombie demons was VERY satisfying, in the end I ended up playing through the whole game and the expansion at least 3 times.

The game also holds a special heart in my place, when I played it it looked unlike anything else I'd seen before, no game has impressed me as much graphically as Doom 3 did on it's time and then when the gameplay was so fun then I was psyched for the game. I enjoyed it even more when I upgraded my computer and it allowed me to play on the highest settings.

I'm not THAT excited about Doom 4 since it doesn't sound like they are making it to feel like Doom 3 but I'll still keep an eye on it.

Quake IV on the other hand, was horribly dissapointing.

Yea, i was one of the few who enjoyed doom3. It was one of the very few games that had me hyped up, and actually made me go out there and buy it. (Well not saying that my other list of games are illegal... :p)

Cant wait, but unfortunately its going to be like a 2010 or 2011 title i believe.

*sigh*
