Quake3Arena- Rocket Arena 3 crashing **UPDATE** Installed CS and it's crashing as well

anyone else having this problem?
i just formatted and installed win98se installed all my proggies then put in q3a. it was fine last night. i installed win2k this morning. now my q3 on my win98se partition is crashing. any ideas?

 
**UPDATE**
i'm not sure what's going on.
it loads into the ra3 client and after i connect to a server, go to an arena, and about 2 seconds after i begin to play quake 'performs an illegal operation'.
any help would be grealty appreciated
 
anyone know why CS and Q3A would crash in windows2k?
i have all the latest updates and all the new drivers.
any help is greatly appreciated
