Quake (not the game) report from puget sound

At 10:55AM pacific time my little seti crunchers came to a halt even though I have a UPS - they all went down.
I powered back up at about noon.
This was the strongest quake I've felt in the NW since the big one in AK over 30 years ago.
This was a 7.0 magnitude quake, all the stuff that was on top of anything else is now on the floor.
My computers are mostly all back online. My lappy is on the floor, still gotta check it out.
All my crunchers are working now, they are going to start running out of WU soon so maybe I'll get them going on a different project until Berkley comes back up.
All my kids are fine and happily out of school. It was very exciting for them of course.
Now I have a lot of cleanup to do. Seems my 76 year old house is fine, foundation still has no cracks. Plaster has a bit more cracks, but all else seems fine.
There was some building damage around the NorthWest and there are a few people in the hospitals with minor injuries. Seems to be few serious injuries so far.
 
Wiz: Glad to hear you came though okay. A thing like this shows you that a SETI outage isn't the worst thing in the world.

Rob, that's for sure. What a mess.
Apparently to update there are reports now of some injuries (edit - one local news incorrectly said 'deaths' but apparently mistaken) from earthquake caused fires.
Things will continue to change as everyone gets to where they can check everything out.
Sea-Tac airport is closed for business because the tower lost some glass so the FAA says it's not safe to work there. They may get it fixed quickly and get the airport opened soon.
Now Golden Colorado is saying it was a 6.8 magnitude - they will keep changing the number until they get the info from all the sensors.
 
So far all is pretty well. The corner in front of our house has cracks in the road because the river bank is giving way a bit. Police and city just closed the road at the corner.
Otherwise all is well.
I'm running out of seti WU's is my biggest trouble of the day, now that we got the mess all cleaned up.
 
Wiz, you may want to try connecting to Orange Kid's server. He seems to have tons of WU's spread over the many users, and I'm sure he could put some of them into a cache for you. 🙂 Just check out Orange Kid's proxy thread for info on how to use his server.
 
Oh great, now they tell us on the Seattle news my town water supply guys are saying we need to boil our water. I had city people out front all day you think one of them might have mentioned this? Idiots:disgust:
 
Well, us boarderers are ok, as Salem only got a minor shaking.🙂 At least this proves I'm not crazy, since i felt it, but most people didn't.😉 Also, as far as I cn tell, the rest of the DC WA guys are OK too, as everyone I can think of(Russ, Mech, DStroth, and DanC) besides DanC are ok.😀
