Well, I am not into Single Player games much anymore. Quake 2 and solo Guild Wars have prolonged stints in Solo Games on the PC besides running the occasional demo ( think far cry and FEAR). I am into multi so much much more.

Well I got Quake 4, loved Quake 2, free with my 7800GT and I cranked it up. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews etc etc. Well, O M G, I love it. I love the look, I love the feel, I love the pace, I love the NPCs. It does feel like a sequal to Quake 2.

It also has a Call of Duty 2 feel to it ( I have only played the xbox 360 CoD2) and I must say iD and Raven teamed up for a great game. I am not a Raven fan... but maybe it was Lucas Arts was behind their last flop ( Jedi Academy ).

So kudos to id, Raven and all that... bbl... got some strogg to frag.

I have been having fun with my free copy of Q4, which also came with my 7800GT.

I didn't expect much, from some of the mixed reviews, but its been a fun ride so far.

same here. im a big q2 fan too. q4 just didnt do it for me. coule be my video card (9800 pro) keeping me from enjoying it.

i'm playin it on a 9800XT w/ a little bit overclocking... only @1024x768x32 All settings set to high on q4 no FSAA though...

for me it its quite enjoyable

The multiplayer looked like a revised Q3a, though I didnt actually play it. Wish there was a MP demo. I'm trying to decide between purchasing Q4, FEAR (well I prolly won't seriously consider this until they implement anticheat), something else, or nothing at all.

edit: And I'm fvcking pissed. For over a month I was checking out an upgrade to buy, and the whole time I was considering a 7800GT, the eVGA w/ Q4 one to be exact. So I although I heard Q4 to not be so great, I figured great if I was getting it free. Yet the fvcking eVGA offer ends like 3 days before I purchase my upgrade! I wouldn't have minded the COD2 free offer they had going either. Damn!!

the Q4 demo is both single and multi player

Um... It ended a month before I purchased mine... I contacted customer service and they gave me a free Quake 4 anyway. Had in about 1 week to be exact. eVGA owns.

Damn. I still missed out. A reply on the forums say it has ended and supplies are gone. The link to it shows the same.

Initally, I wasn't very impressed with Q4. Reminded way too much of Doom3 which I did not like at all.

But I kept playing and I thought it defintiely got better as the game progressed. I actually finished the game (which I did not even come close to doing with Doom3), and was fairly impressed overall when it was finished.

I think it might have gotten better reviews when it first came out, but it was up against alot of different games at that time like AOE3, COD2, BF2, NFSMW, and others.

I completed Q4 not too long ago and then beated Doom 3. I gotta agree also that Q4 and D3 were very similar in terms of gameplay, except that Q4 had more "lights" than D3. Q4's single player was great, but a bit repetitive. The multiplayer from Q4 kinda sucked though..

Playing it right now. It's a lot better than doom 3 but the tasks that they have you do seem quite mundane. The level design is uneven in quality as well. I also feel very limited by the weapons so far. It took me an hour or so to figure out why it kept switching me back to machine gun, and that was because I was turning on the flashlight with the shotgun.

I loved it, especially the elevator ride and the blue fog area. Coulda done without the outdoor areas (as odd as that sounds).

i sure hope its better than FEAR. man, the ending of that suckeD! the game didnt go anywhere!!! im going to get Q4 when i cool down from being so angry with FEAR. GGGRrrrrrrr....

Q4 has lots of boss fights, I want to say 3 or 4 of them at least. The last boss was a fun fight for me also.

I got Q4 the day it came out...it is trash. It's basically just a TC of Doom 3. I was a hardcore Q2 player back in the day and Q4 does not live up to the legacy.
