So I need to make a custom timedemo in Quake 4 and no matter what demo I make the level of, when I go to actually run the timedemo it crashes. If I just do "playdemo" instead of "timedemo," it will actually show the error. It says something about "Bad FOV's" and if I manually set the FOV it doesn't help.
Can someone running Q4 v1.2 or 1.3 please do this and report back:
*start new game on first level
*As soon as game loads, hit Esc to go to menu
*Press Ctrl-Alt-Tilde to bring up the console.
*Type "recorddemo demo"
*Press tilde to exit the console, and then resume the game
*Play for like a minute or so, look around outside briefly and then go kill a few bad guys inside or whatever.
*When you're done, hit escape, bring up the console, and type "stoprecording"
*Quit and reload Q4, bring up console, then type "playdemo demo"
*If it plays the demo, then type "timedemo demo" and see if it runs the timedemo properly.
*If "playdemo" doesn't work, bring up the console again and see what error it reports.
Yes I crossposted in Software, but I need some help ASAP please. I'm on a time deadline, I have to send this machine back Tuesday. Thanks!
