Quake 4 help request

I'm at the first bosses. The spider ones.

The little two are easy, but how the hell do I get past the big one? He either grenades me or uses the lightening thing or ... well he just kicks my butt!

Any advice? And I didnotice the one side ofthe room has alot more hiding places.

Let him kill you your supposed to. After a while he draws a lightning beam at you. It will sweep you off the ground and he will capture you, it's supposed to happen you cant defeat him. The first time i tried i died then 2nd time i just battled him until he beamed me in. After you beat that your in for a big suprise.

OK, jsut re-read your post. You haev to survive up till teh point he tries to beem you in. I jsut tried the level again and it failed due to this.

Oh, yeah, I just surrendered to that one monster, and it turned out that worked fine and he turned me into Stroganoff.

I'm only at second easiest difficuly and the Reputrefaction level. Ugh, that sounds disgusting. What level are you guys on? Probably the last because of the Makron? I thought the Makron died in Quake 2? I wonder if I just killed the Makron, because if not, it was some other frickin beast that I needed to shoot ~5000 machine gun bullets in to. I'm lucky I got him in a place where he wasn't doing anything to me (seemed like a bug?). Construction Zone was that level, I believe.

I don't know why but I haven't come across any secrets yet (but I haven't played around much either).

Edit: finished Reputrification. That level scared me s***less. I'd like to say I went on a little 'tour' of that place and decided, dying by various methods along the way, I'd rather not end up there. Looks worse than hell itself. Can anyone go and report back?

For once I actually feel like meeting up with my squad homie G's after this but I still can't regroup with them yet. It's definitely starting to feel like Quake 2. The hanging prisoners in Quake 2 in their cells and the 'detention center', ahhhhh..the nostalgia. 'Aaaaaahhhhhh...Let me out..let me out...aaaaah'

wow xnight thx for telling Ihatemyjob what happends after you defeat makron(1st time).......Some people havent gotten to your current level yet, you know. And yes i re-read i think you wait until he beams you, then dont struggle or jump out of it. Im not quite sure how it happend to me as i was wondering wtf when i first tried it. His pink beam killed me the first time. Then the second it didnt even hurt me it just dragged me into him.

My bad, I thought he was farther than me but I'll add a warning to the beginning of it. It was on the box anyway. I didn't even think that was the Makron.

Well I never heard it. Are you sure I met the Makron yet? I was just starting the Reputrification Center when I wrote the post. Where does he come in?

Isnt he before the reputrification center? He comes in when your trying to destroy the tetranode, after the two spider bosses attack.

BTW they said a marine got into the nexus or wherever and killed the makron, i got past that level where he is encountered and back to the ship but noone said anything, so whats the deal? The marine lied? He failed? what? Makron faked his own death or somthing???

In quake 2 you kill the makron. Then he comes back to life somehow. They were referring to you.

Hmm ok. MAYBE!! Its like diablo II and the marine you played in quake 2 got captured and turned into a new makron! Thats my theory.
