If anybody knows how to do a benchmark for Quake 4 including timedemo or whatever please let me know thanks.

I would do a search for .demo files in the installation directory. If there are none then you will need to record your own. The commands are probably the same as D3.

Eventually a few big hardware review sites will release the custom timedemos they create as well.

If you press control+alt+~ you get a consol window and you can type com_showfps 1 and it will give you an FPS readout frame by frame, but it's obviously not a timedemo. This will help you determine where you get performance hits at least and maybe allow you to tweak the cfg file if you're into that type of thing.
