well, im sure this is old, but for some reason, im only getting ~65 fps on a dual proc p3 933 smp win2k setup. i tried some settings, turning of vsync, yada yada. i set my radeon LE to 180 mhz, (no fan :( cant lose a pci slot).

i turned off "r_smp 1" and i jumped to 74 fps. lol

anyone getting low radeon LE scores?? considering i have a p3 933...

I don't think radeon le supports dual processors. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I didnt think it matter if the gfx card supported it? As long as the OS and the program did?

I;m guessing your video card is bottlenecked. At the same time, the overhead from SMP was causing lower frame rates. To really test how much SMP help, goto 640x480 so the video card is no longer holding you back. Of course the game will look like crap. :)

Quake 3 actually should BENEFIT from SMP.

What are your settings?

You should have the following (for raw CPU power testing):

640 x 480 @ 16bpp
Minimum details all the way.

Make sure you leave the GL extensions set to ON, otherwise it's the equivalent of having VSYNC left on.

Try that for size - this is raw CPU power you'll be measuring, not the GFX-card ;)

Also - it's not a question whether the GFX-card supports SMP (GFX-cards couldn't care less about how many CPU's a system has - it's for the OS to deal with that).

ok, well i guess im mislead by the concept:

i was testing my fps on a playable setting, aka:

1024*768
16bpp
next to highest textures

so when people post on here 100 fps (@radeon LE), its cuz they are at 680 * 480?? i think i can hit 100 easily given the 74 at 1024*768

also, why the lower smp score? windogg, from what you said, basically, the comp processes it, and the radeon cant pump it out fast enough as the cpus give it?? (man that sounds dirty).

Just out of curiosity, disable the T&L unit on the Radeon and see if scores improve.

Yes, the graphics card has to support it. I don't think Radeon is SMP supported. I know Nvidia cards have SMP enabled. Voodoo cards aren't either.
