does anyone know the no cd patch.. for quake 3?.. i have been trying to find it but i cant.. a link would be helpful!! thanks!
 
Which patch removes it legally? I have patched it with 1.27g but it still asks for CD-key. And what's the point of this CD keys anyway? I borrowed the original Quake III CD from my cousin and can't see any differences (any restrictions) if I type in the key or not.
 
Neuromancer: if your cousin was playing online with that same CD Key, you would find out the point of the scheme 😉
 
q3 is primarily a multiplayer game. so the cdkey is there to prevent two users from using the same cdkey while playing online. single player q3 is boring anyway

the latest point releases don't require your q3 cd to be in the drive in order to play the game. but the cdkey is always required, there is no patch around that (multiplayer anyways).
