I have recently came into possesion of a quadro4 700xgl card, which from what little research I have done appears to be geared towards use in a cad type environment and appears to be rather expensive to purchase. I currently have a crappy old mx440 in my system. Would the quadro4 outperform the mx440 as far as gaming is concerned? I've been trying to use FRAPS to capture movies in bf1942 with my crappy old mx440 and can't get much more than 10 -15 fps. Anyone have any experience with a quadro4 card in respect to gaming?

Thanks in advance.

for games it will definatly be faster than a GF4 MX. but for games it won't be very impressive. as you might already know, its designed for CAD and workstation purposes.

i82lazyboy, you're kidding, right?

The Quadro4 700XGL is, IIRC, the workstation equivalent of the gF4 Ti4200 series (NV25GL.4). You'll have slightly slower performance but better IQ due to the Quadro drivers. It will brutalize the MX440 in every aspect.

Treat it like a 64MB geForce4 Ti4200 (don't crank the AA or shiny bits) and you'll be more than happy with the performance.
