Quadro NVS 420

Can the Quadro NVS420 push 2560x1600 through its DVI ports? I know that the NVS295 cannot and am trying to replace 2 295's with a single 420 so that a user can use 4 30" monitors but I need to know that this will work because the monitors don't have a display port on them. I am having trouble finding definitive proof either way. TIA

Nvidia's spec shows 1xVHDCI>4x Single Link DVI-D.

It is confusing because they all tout 4x 2560 digital, but it looks to me that it is single link DVI using the VHDCI to DVI dongle.

Looks to me like;
DVI max = 1920x
DP = 2560x

I agree its confusing. On the NVS 2xx series spec pages they clearly state that DVI can't do 2560 but the 4xx series is a bit ambiguous.

This is funny, Not 5 minutes after posting this I got a reply from nVidia saying that it does support 2560 over DVI

They definately need to clear up their marketing if thats the case. I would double check to see that they mean using the VHDCI to DVI dongle, because I've seen both single link and dual link for the DVI specs.

Thank you for contacting NVIDIA Customer Care. Yes, NVS 420 supports resolutions of 2560x1600 on all four monitors using DVI connectors. Let me know if any more questions. Best regards, Mike NVIDIA Customer Care

Thats what I got back from nVidia

Edit: I swear, its like they know I talk about them. I posted this then not 10 minutes later I get an email from them asking me to take a survey about my "customer experience" Do they watch this forum?

OK, now I'm pissed off... After having to go through university purchasing we finally got the card today. I got it installed and still couldn't get it to work at 2560x1600 so I go to nVidia's website again to grab drivers thinking its a driver issue and low and behold they've changed their spec page, now it says that 2560x1600 is NOT supported across DVI. Now I've got to return this thing ti Dell and find something to make this damn machine work. I'll probably have to get 2 video cards now.
