Does anyone out there own/use a FX700 card?
Me and some other guys are trying to find the resistor on the FX700 that sets the PCI ID of the card. If so, could you take some high resolution pictures of card (backside) -- close enough to see all the resistors. It may requre shooting 4 pictures per side just to get close enough.
If you don't have webspace to host the images, you can email them to me and I'll host them. Send to ebay@guavREMOVE.THISaman.com - that's my box I use for ebay and message boards. Delete the REMOVE.THIS before emailing. 🙂
What we're trying to do is find out how to do a complete hardware mod on the card to change a 5900 or 5900 XT into a Quadro 3000. We already know how to change the reisitor on the GPU, but if we can find the resistor on the motherboard that changes the PCI ID, we'll be able to use Quadro drivers without ANY need for software patching -- that means using the LATEST drivers and having a TRUE quadro card!
You don't know how many CG artists out there who will adore you for doing this! 🙂
