Quadro FX 3700 vs gaming

Wow, the web is useless today or no one is doing it. Except for a note in the Monsters vs Aliens game at Activision, I cannot find too much on if a Quadro FX 3700 will at least perform in some games. I found a good Crysis mark against a 8800.

Background, I need to move to a 3700 or higher board when I move over to Avid Media Composer. My current NLE uses my ATI 1950Pro. MC is only certified with some Quadros and gets max performance from the 3700, 3800, and above (yes, some video editors do use the GPU).

Has anyone run games against some of the higher end FX cards successfully?

/Can only afford a piecemeal upgrade at the moment - after paying $500 for a NLE upgrade....

I ran all sorts of games on Quadro 5800 4GB, 3800, 1500, you name it... what do you want to know?

PS: $500 upgrade - let me guess: AXP to MC? ;) Funny but I just finished setting up a new Nitris DX station today. :)

You guessed wrong :D AL to MC. Same thing, different Avid product getting tombstoned. :)

Thanks. You see all the folks that say, "everyone knows that workstations cards don't work with games." You never see someone who actually has one and failed. So I was guessing it was one of those continued myths from days gone by.

the 3700 is an underclocked 8800GT, so you should be able to figure out how it'll perform by looking at 8800GT benchmarks and extrapolating from the clockspeed difference. It'll actually be a bit slower than that because of the lack of driver optimization but it should give you a good idea.
