Why would they release quadfx with sole support coming from an nvidia chipset when they have rd600 in house??

I'm getting the impression that they are going to squander ATI.

Eventhough they have ATI and all their chipset R&D in-house now, it will take some time before AMD starts releasing their own chipsets based on that tech. I would not be suprised if the 580X (RD580) or a variant of it started appearing in a future QuadFX board. Just because QuadFX is launching on 680a chipsets doesn't mean it will stay that way.
