You can't Quad SLI 4 video cards at this time. The only Quad SLI setup is/was a pair of dual GPU cards like the 7950GX2s. SLI'ing a pair of these cards is not currently supported in Vista.

There is also the issue with the ATX form factor only having space for 7 PCI brackets and most cards that you would want to SLI taking up two slots.

Intel Skulltrail to break dual-socket performance barrier

After all, an extra 20 - 30% speed boost on CPU, and additional 30+ memory throughput due to optimised FSB latency coupled with both higher bandwidth and lower latency by those upcoming FB-DIMMs, should give a very decent application performance increase, not to mention ability to feed, say, four Nvidia G92 GPUs simultaneously?

this is why i ask
skulltrail will have 4 pci-e-2.0 16x slots

any response?
thanks for your time

The point is better performance.

Who will use? Almost no one.

Regular CF/SLI isn't exactly a popular option due to the expense and hit or miss returns.

Doubling down on that proposition is a complete waste of resources for either NVIDIA or AMD.

Some people have the need and the money to have a big E penis and Nvidia knows it. They're just filling the need.

If it fits an ATX form factor, you won't be able to fit 4 dual-slot cards on it even if there is driver support for such a setup. You would have to use something like the single-slot watercooled models to do it.

Longer e-penis?

4 is a bigger number than 2?

Didn't want to feel stupid for buying a 1200W power supply for a 300W system, so trying to find something that can use that much power?

Trying to make up for some lack elsewhere?

I don't think quad SLI was ever officially supported and it only worked properly in a couple of games. Nvidia seems to have abandoned the idea after the 8800s came out.
