By looking at those benchmarks and taking into account the issues they had with QuadSLI, I'm liking Crossfire more and more. And considering Conroe will be coming out later this year, Conroe and Crossfire look to be a nice combo.

Crossfire isn't going anywhere JackBurton. QuadSLI is very new. SLI is almost perfect. Compare QuadCrossfire and Quadsli, you can't compare a dual card solution versus in essence a quad card solution, it's just not FAIR.

I think this is getting nuts, now even 2 GPUs isn't good enough  Insanity.

I'll stick with my single GPU setup for a bit, then add another a bit later to complete my crossfire setup.

I'm not sure what you are saying. I'm saying by the benchmarks and issues they are having with QuadSLI, I prefer the Crossfire configuration.

How can you prefer a dual card solution over a quad card solution? It's apples and oranges.

A much more FAIR comparison would be that of 2 7900GT/X cards in SLIand 1 x1900/1800XT/XL cards in crossfire.

I do not see the logic in preferring crossfire over SLI due to quad card solutions

The logic is, Crossfire performs VERY nicely compared to QuadSLI (I only have the xbitlabs review to go by as I'm blocked from firingsquads review here). I don't see the value in the performance gain from Crossfire (1900XT) to QuadSLI (I actually think it's just a small performance gain). Crossfire even manages to pull ahead of the QuadSLI setup in HL2. QuadSLI looks to have some SERIOUS issues now. And finally, Crossfire looks to be at a great price point now. There you go. That's my logic.

Well anything new hasserious issues. And Crossfire has a crapload they need to get ironed out before ya can say that.

I remember the HL survey said like 1500:1 people have SLI to crossfire (3000 Something to 2 people having crossfire) You should just sit tight.
DRivers work wonderS!

It certainly seems that the drivers need improving.

However for the absolute highest performance regardless of price quad SLI is the only way to go.

Although the cost is highly prohibitive to all but the wealthiest gamers out there.

A popularity contest doesn't equate to a product better. Do you want me to take a poll on how many people buy Monster cables for their home theater system at home?

So you're saying he should wait because crossfire is not as popular? SLI has been out since the dawn of 3D video cards (technically), and ATI is just now catching the boat. Just because something is new, doesn't mean it is inferior. I think ATi has proven that, and the benchmarks are there to boot. Why spend the money on two dual core video cards when you can just have two single core video cards for less?

What the hell are you talking about arcenite?
SLI came out upon the dawn of the 6800 release, they quickly got their shiat fixed in a year. We'll see if CrapFire can do the same.

Well SLI was around before that in one form or another.

Currently i can't see the point in quad SLI, maybe if there were some faster cards, or if the drivers improve. But currently crossfire would be my choice for high end dual GPU.

As far as I'm concerned, anything more than 2 GPUs is a sin. And I'm not too fond of SLI/CF myself.

What a sad waste.
