Quad Core Release Estimate?

What's the latest news on Intel's quad core release data, extreme edition or otherwise? I heard "around Thanksgiving" from several sources, is that about right?

Yeap-I'd expect more around christmas before you can buy one, but it could be early. And its going under an extreme edition moniker, so it'll be around $1000. Their supposed to release a cheaper one as well, it all depends on intels production yields.

Q6600 2.4GHz 2x4MB L2cache , prolly will be some where near $600, com'n Q1 2007, but i thought inquirer said it might come in November depending on how intel's yields are.

Mid-November. But thats just the launch. Adequate supply could come later near Christmas or just after although they'll be expensive well into next year since they'll be top tier procs in terms of performance/power.

OF course "mass production" is somewhat of a misonmer since these will be relatively low volume, but if you mean when can you get one then December sounds right unless you want to pay a couple hundred more to get it a month early.
