quad core processors and older games

i was thinking about getting a q6600 because of the recent price drop but i do play a lot of older games such as counter strike source and world of warcraft for example but i'm afraid that the games won't support the procs. i've tried looking on the games' sites and stuff but i still can't find an answer. anyone know if they can be played on quad core cpu's?

Yes, they can be played on quad core CPU'S with no issues at all.

Yes, those games will only use 1 core though. That's it.

ohhh ok thanks, so they'll run fine but just won't take advantage of the multiple cores...ok i get it

I think once orange box comes out there will be a source update allowing counter-strike source to take advantage of atleast two cores but untill then your quad will have no problems running it on a single core. No idea about WoW but I do know it will run flawless on a core 2 duo or quad using just 1 core.
