Please stop using caps so much.
The intel quad core kentsfield iwll come around november-decemebr.And it'll costs $1200 plus.
As for the ASUS board.Think ASUS P5WDH or ASUS P5B Deluxe or ASUS P5N32 SLI-Premium

If you plan on a January build you'd be better off to wait till 2nd half of December at least before worrying about it. Alot of new components coming out in the next couple months and its too early to tell whats going to be best for a January build with so many untested compnents that will be hitting the stores between now and then. I predict a busy Fall/Winter in the PC industry(as far as new components go).

Any 965 Board will support C2D Quad. They are the best right now for overclocking as well. In the future the BadAxe2 may be able to do a better job, but current 975x boards have trouble reaching a high fsb with C2D Quad.

Cheers

Btw, I'd be suprised if VISTA launches in January. Last I heard it got pushed back to beginning Q2 2007. I suppose MS could try and rush it out sooner.

The source was some preview I read some time back. Not sure if its true or not. Wouldnt suprise me considering MS always delays their O/S launches once or twice at least because things werent ready. Considering the millions of lines of coding that goes into these O/Ses suprised they work at times to begin with. ::chuckle:: Anyway I havent heard of it being moved up to January. Possible I suppose. Everything is rumor at this point. I havent seen an official launch date yet so its hard to say.

Vista has already been delayed a fair amount. This official press release indicates a firm January general release.

Thanks for that link, Aluvus. I do stand corrected then. January it is. I wonder how long it'll take them to get a SP1 out for it? I'm guessing thats when VISTA gets DirectX10 update.
