qtparted partition resizing issue

Tool:
I am working with this boot cd http://www.sysresccd.org/ and qtparted to resize some partitions.

Platform:
Win2k server operating system. (So partition magic won't work since it is a server OS) Single drive with 2 partitions. (C and D)

Situation:
I am running out of space on the C partition and would like to increase the size of the C partition by first decreasing the size of the D partition and then increasing the size of the C partition.

Problem:
I have successfully reduced the size of the D partition using qtparted and committed the change. My problem comes in when trying to increase the size of the C drive with the available unallocated space freed from D. The resize for the C partition doesn't seem to allow the increase into the free space.

Any help is appreciated.

shove the drive into another system, - not a server. then use partition manager on that drive. When you put it back into the server system, the drive will pretend nothing happened, except bigger partitions.
