QPS QUE! 40X12X48X CD-RW $79.99-$20(IR)-$20(MIR)

After my usual Sunday morning scanning of my local paper I noticed a QPS QUE! 40X12X48X CD-RW for the purchase price of $59.99. This price was after a $20 in-store instant rebate. There is also a $20 mail-in rebate bringing the total price down to $39.99. I have been looking for a burner but was tired of all of the mail-in rebates.
After seeing that this burner had an instant rebate, I figured that $59.99 was a great price for a burner and it even has a mail-in rebate to boot. When i mail in rebates I always send it certified . This way I know that the company has received my rebate coupon and information nd I have proof of it. Personally I thought this was a great deal so I thought that I would pass it on. It may or may not be available at your store. I am not sure if it is nationwide or just a local deal. They also had a Western Digital 60GB 7200rpm hard drive for $89 no rebates. To me this is a pretty decent price. I hope this information may be of help to someone. Circuit City is the store. I am sorry for not posting it earlier. After researching a little on the internet, I discovered that this drive is made by Sanyo and there is information about the drive on the web site burn-proof.com. The drive utilizes BURN-Proof technology that is a trademark of Sanyo. The site has a flash utility and the latest firmware for the drive.

I don't know what the current batch of Que drives are, but I once bought a Que IDE burner that was a rebadged Mitsumi 4804TE. QPS/Que! was primarily marketing drives for Apple 'puters till a couple years ago, IIRC... I know they don't make any themselves.

I think he's referring to Circuit City. I just looked at their website and it was listed for the price he stated. When I add it to my cart, it says the burner is $59.99 and there's supposed to also be a $20 mail in rebate.

When I posted about the CDRW for sale at Circuit City, I thought I would be nice by posting information about it so that maybe someone looking for a cheap drive would be able to benefit from this information. Well I guess since everyone seems to get their jollies by laughing at me for posting this information and by me making an honest mistake by forgetting to put down the store that had the drive for sale, I will not ever tell anyone about deals that I find. I think it is childish and rude to laugh at somone that is fairly new to the forum and I seriously doubt that you all are perfect.

Good Day

Wow, you really are new if you think that was bad. Seriously, you have to put up with alot of assholes in HD, but no one in this thread was especially rude to you. If you do change your mind and come back, grow some thicker skin, because sooner or later, you'll run across some of the real assholes on this forum.

Oh yeah...pretty good deal.

i agree. nobody has bombed the thread YET complaining about qps rebate (or some bonehead comment about getting 32x for $9.99 ar). hot dealers are kind of cdrw jaded now...
good luck in the future

Wow man, relax! Nobody was slamming you or anything, just wondering where the deal was. In these forums it is standard practice to post the location where you found this deal, and often to even include a link to the website and the rebates (if they're available online). Believe me, you ain't seen NOTHING yet - just hang around awhile and see!!

By the way, WELCOME AND ENJOY!!!!!!! 😀

rdunnit,

Thanks for your post on this deal. I saw this one elsewhere but no info on which OEM drive in the box. Your post is quite valuable by mentioning the Sanyo drive. In the hoopla of the almost free 32X burner deals, people seem to forget about these 40X burner deals. People who are looking for a 40X burner still appreciate your post.

I just got the drive. After an additional $15 off from a CC gift certificate they were kind enough to mail me, it came down to $25 plus tax and the cost of a postal stamp. Now if I could only price match the remaining $28.85... I installed the drive, (model BP1700P) Which is (according to references) a rebedged Sanyo CDRW401248 drive used for Lite-on "LTR-40126S", etc. I wonder whether it can be flushed with the Lite-on file for the LTR--48125S... to make it a 48X.

Your Sanyo drive is not a rebadged LiteOn, therefore cannot be reflashed using the LiteOn's firmware. Sanyo drives don't even use the Mediatek chipset in their drives, so MTKFLASH won't work at all. Go Here for more information.

TDK uses both LiteOn and Sanyo drives in their 40X burners, so the quality is as good as, if not better than, LiteOn.

I only see one post that said lol in it, and I think he was referring to not knowing about Que drives.

Everyone else basically said, "where?" and that was the end of it.
