I was browsing, looking at my non-changing stats (yeah long WUs), and I found this in the log. That is awesome. Okay, I officially like QMC@home now. Because that's just awesome.

Don't all BOINC projects auto-benchmark every 5 days or so just for the heck of it?

BOINC benchmarks every 5 days, on version-change, if usable number of cpu's change (either physically or due to preference-change), or if manually chooses to re-benchmark.

Go with the "HEY this is the most generous scoring project since Rosetta" angle...

If they don't like that one.... shoot 'em!

they vary a little from benchmark to benchmark

That would be excellent, as I'd love to compare that to my 2.66's.

Sorry, forgot to do this the other day.. ran the BOINC benchmark program on my Xeon (dual-core) 2.8 w/HT, with 4Gig of DDR2 and got the following:

4/11/2006 1:29:34 PM||Running CPU benchmarks
4/11/2006 1:29:34 PM||Benchmark results:
4/11/2006 1:29:34 PM|| Number of CPUs: 4
4/11/2006 1:29:34 PM|| 1240 double precision MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU
4/11/2006 1:29:34 PM|| 1480 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU
4/11/2006 1:29:34 PM||Finished CPU benchmarks

Hope that helps you out. :)
