OK, so I've got ways to go on all the abbreviations running around here, but I thought that I'd share this with you all.

I've seen 'QFT' posted on a lot of posts and I wanted to know what it stood for. I searched in google and this is the first result I got,

Quantum field theory

That stumped me for 5 mins on the intelligence level of our posters here. Were they all so much more advanced than me? Or was I just plain stupid?

The 4th search result gave me this - "Queen's Film Theatre".

By now, I knew that something strange was going on somewhere...

Finally at the 6th link I found what I was looking for, "Quoted For Truth" .

Still, that first impression I got was something. Just thought that I'd share the experience.

And depending on context its either qouted for truth or quit fucking talking.

I'm sorry. I meant QFT !!!!!!

I've corrected it in the OP now.

Quit Fucking Talking is a deprecated meaning, IMO. A while back it could mean either, but unless the context is painfully obvious I take it to mean "for truth"
