Qestion about Hyundai ImageQuest L70A LCD Panel

I've got one of these panels and have a slight problem with it. Whenever there is a lot of grey in a concentrated area of the screen a ripple effect happens. It's pretty annoying (the default XFree86 background in Linux drives the thing into a frenzy). Anyways, I am using an analog/Dsub connector with the screen. I was wondering if anyone else w/ this monitor has experienced this and if they know if moving to a digital/DVI connection fixed it.

Update: I had the brightness on my LCD turned down a lot (down to about the same brightness of a CRT). Once I bumped the brightness up to 25 the problem went away. The brightness does tendy to hurt my eyes at this level though so if anybody knows about the DVI situation LMK.
