Q9550 - only 2 cores working

Q9550 processor
ASRock P43DE3 mobo
4 GB ram

I ran RealTemp to check the core temps and only 2 were loading. Restarted the comp. several times, and still only 2 cores working. Please Help...

I had the same problem when I upgraded from E8200 to Q9300.

I had windows7 set to only use 2 CPUs at startup via the "msconfig" utility (Advanced Settings). I simply unchecked that option and I had 4 cores when I rebooted.

Are you sure they're not working? Realtemp when first loaded may not show the correct amount of cores. Just need to run the sensor test and it fixes things. This has happened to me on my last 775 quad and my i7 920.

I'd look in windows in the CPU utilization tab and make sure it's not just Realtemp.
