Okay guys, let me preface this thread by saying that I have read the overclocking guide stickied in this forum and have tried the various methods listed within it. I recently purchased a Q9550 and DFI X48-T2RSB Plus from NewEgg in hopes of reaching 4.0GHz+ with my Tuniq Tower. Things were rolling along smoothly... I managed to prime my system for 8+ hours at the following settings:

Vcore: 1.22v
DRAM: 2.2v
Timings: 5-5-5-15
FSB: 400
Multi: 8.5

Vcore: 1.26v
DRAM: 2.2v
Timings: 5-5-5-15
FSB: 425
Multi: 8.5

Then, I tried bumping her up to 450 FSB. This is where the problems began. For some reason, I'm no longer even able to POST, much less start to prime. I've tried backing off on the memory timings, upping the vcore to as much as 1.35v, upping the NB to as much as 1.35v, and changing the memory divider to lower the RAM speed to around 900MHz. None of these solutions seem to have worked.

I need suggestions please!

Each time it failed to post I had to reset the CMOS...

I'm looking for suggestions on how to get my clocks higher.

Rise your Vcore more, if temperature becomes the problem; upgrade cooling method.

The recommended max vcore for the q9550 is 1.35... is that really not enough to even hit 450 FSB?

Try removing the BIOS battery for a min with power disconnected and make sure reset BIOS is jumpered properly.

Have you tried to find the max FSB your board would do? You can select the lowest multi and everything else @stock and just up the FSB till it won't go further.

I'd start with the NB voltage first. For my dual core 8400, all it took to reach 4ghz was 1.2vcore 1.5vNB LLC enabled with Asus P5Q Premium but dual core is easier to OC than a quad.
