yep, the celeron's are on the compatibility list and the abits are shipping with the 14 bios...given there's no newer official bios than that, that would be a route to go, flash the a 45nm compatible bios for the quads and you're off to the races

yeah, i've heard the asus' have had a better history of being quad penryn compatible. i'm only speaking to experience with gigabyte and abit🙂

don't buy an ip35pro just for Q9450 if you can't even get a working bios for it! I'm very happy with my ip35 pro, don't get me wrong, it just seems silly to buy a cheap-o celeron and then have to sell it again just to flash your bios! do you have any friends with lga775 cpus?

i can't argue that. nothing wrong with an asus mobo in my mind except i need 3 pci slots minimum for my needs, properly spaced. i hate asus' slot layout🙂

If people wait like you said Tenax they'll get ripped on pricing like people are on the E8xxx's

No kiddin', that's why I have an order/pre-order in at two places. Best I could do was $353 shipped though ...

With regard to Gigabyte mobos, it seems the models with EP (for Dynamic Energy Saver) in their model number are much "friendlier" to the new CPUs. My EP35-DS3R (Rev. 2.1) booted right up the first time with my 8400. I have purposely not flashed the BIOS to a newer rev as I have had no probs, so it may not like the new quads either, we'll see. I'm probably going to buy a DFI X38 board anyways, and keep the 8400 on the DS3R.
