q9400 says its a pentium 3

so i had a virus . did wipe reload now my computer says my q9400 is a pentium 3 . my system is evga 780i q9400 460gtx xp serv pak 3 . hope that is enough info for some help

how are you identifying this "pentium 3"?

Have you tried using a utility such as cpuz?

try CPUz or another information utility. If those report incorrectly, there's a problem. If not, it's likely an issue with your windows installation.

The hotfix isn't publicly available, but really it should not affect performance if you're running without it. It's just annoying for those of us in enterprise environments and want to do management that requires knowing what cpu is installed.
