ok guys heres my setup
790i ultra evga
supertalent ddr3 1800 4 gigs
q9300

Those are the basics.
Heres my question.
The q9300 is supposed to have a multiplier of 7.5 but when i go into the bios it is default set to 7 and wont go any higher, my 2 options are 6 or 7 and when i try to set it manually i cant put in a decimal so it just shows as 75. i dont get it. Cpuz show the mutliplier at 6.Wtf

Also my supertalent 1800 is supposed to be stable at 7-7-7-21 timings at 2.0 volts.
But its locked at 1333 and when i try to bump its timings up it is severly unstable?

are you sure the bios currently available for that board supports .5 multis? with the intel chipsets, they all were not up to speed right out of the gate and in some cases took 2 or 3 bios versions to do so. if you don't get the answer here, go to the evga forums and i'm sure you'll get some good info from someone there. welcome to AT by the way!

I also have a q9300 with an Asus p5n-e board.

I set my fsb to 1400 and my multiplier to 7. Thats as high as my multiplier will go also, even though its suppose to be 7.5. Its running at 2.63ghz right now, so thats a little faster than what its suppose to be.

That's the normal minimum multiplier available with EIST enabled. Run CPU-Z, and then do something CPU intensive, see if the multiplier jumps up. My systems all do that.
