Q8300 on IP35-E - compatible?

Hello,

I have recently upgraded my system (E2140 on IP35-E with 4x1 GB and HD2600PRO) with Q8300 and 5770. Graphics work flawlessly (the improvement is quite noticable 🙂 )

However when I drop Q8300 into the motherboard, the computer does not boot 🙁 I have upgraded BIOS to version 18, reset CMOS (even disconnecting cables and getting battery out) but it did not help.
Abit's webpage quite clearly says that the MB supports 1333MHz quads, Q8300 itself was not tested but Q9400 and Q9550 are supported therefore I did not forsee any issues with my processor.

Is there anybody that have Q8300 running on IP35-E? I need a confirmation that the motherboard supports it...

My processor spec is SLGUR so it is stepping R0.

Thanks for the help, I have seen the thread you link to but did not consider there might be two versions of BIOS 18 and the problem in the other thread was about incorrect temps (while my system would not boot at all). It really seems strange practice for ABIT to release beta version and then let it float around for more than a year...

Anyway, in the meantime I have sent my hardware to the vendor asking him to deal with it. I hope they will solve the issue...
